Camile J. Talbot's Obituary
Camile Joseph Talbot, 85, slipped way in his sleep Friday morning Sept. 27, 2013 after a brief illness.
Camile was the beloved husband of 60 years to Virginia Stevenson Talbot and loving father to Meloney Adams (Lee), Collette Falgout (John), Maurice Talbot (Deanna), and Michelle Kelsey (Dave), proud grandfather to 11 and 11 great grandchildren.
Born in Napoleonville, La, to Louis and Lela Talbot, Camile was the third child in a family of six. He proceeded in death by brother Steve Talbot and sisters Ruth LeBlanc and Jenny Echelard, survived by Corrine Godberry, Ray Talbot, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Camile grew up, married and raised his family in New Orleans, LA. He served in the National Guard. After working for South Central Bell for 35 years, he was able to retire at age 55. He was lucky enough to be retired for 30 years, in which time he lived life to the fullest. Moving to Bay St Louis, MS together, Camile and Virginia, enjoyed life on the beach, while they, themselves, built their country home in Wayne County, MS from the ground up. There he ventured into winemaking, and garlic farming. He was a jack-of-all-trades and there was nothing broken that he couldn’t fix. After losing their Bay house to Hurricane Katrina, Camile and Virginia spent more time in Abita Springs, LA to be closer to children and grandchildren.
Camile was blessed with a long, wonderful life filled with love and joy. He will be sadly missed by all.
A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Lacombe, La on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013. Visitation begins at 10 am, Rosary and Mass to follow at 11 am. Family and friends are invited to a reception immediately following the services at the home of Michelle and Dave Kelsey.
