Calvin Joseph Mosbey's Obituary
Calvin Joseph Mosbey age 78 of Covington, entered eternal rest on Wednesday evening, November 10, 2021 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital surrounding by his loving family. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 23, 1943 to Melvin Mosbey and Thelma Morlier Mosbey.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years to Joan Duthu Mosbey. He was the loving father to Brian (Tina) Mosbey. He was the proud grandfather of Cayleigh and Mckenzie Mosbey. Calvin was the sibling of 7.
Calvin is preceded in death by his son Daryl Jo Mosbey and parents Melvin and Thelma Mosbey.
A native of New Orleans, longtime resident of Covington for over 20 years, Calvin graduated in 1961 from John McDonogh High School. After high school, he proudly joined the United States Coast Guard. After being honorably discharged, Calvin attended Tulane University, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He began his professional career in banking and retired from Whitney Bank.
Calvin was loving, kind, humble, and loyal person. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and fishing. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family. Calvin was unique, well respected and liked, who will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing is encouraged and masks are required to attend services.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana 70433 on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph the Abbey Cemetery 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, Louisiana 70457.
