Calvin "Buck" Leroy Carney's Obituary
Calvin “Buck” Leroy Carney of Mandeville, LA passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018. He was born on March 26, 1943 in New Orleans, LA to Clyde and Irene (Bourg) Carney.
Buck is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Pauline (Lauricella) Carney; his children Stephen Carney and his wife Holly and Jason Carney and his wife Amy; and his grandchildren Hollis, Abby, Katie, Gabby, and John Paul. He is also survived by his sister Iris Lockhart and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Brett Carney, his brother Bruce Carney, and his sister Sandra Carney.
Buck served in the Unites States Navy as a 2nd Class Engineman. He served on USS Tutuila Arg 4, USS Kiowa ATF72, and the USS Oriskany CVA 34. Buck was a successful business man and owned Northlake Paint & Decorating Center until it closed in 1993. He later retired from RSG Roofing and Supply. Buck was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Covington. He was also a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Covington Chapter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Monday beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Carney to be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave.Dallas, TX 75231, http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/ .
