Bryan Bruno Clement's Obituary
On September 25, 2022, Bryan Bruno Clement, 83 of Covington, La. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. It is with heavy, but full hearts we say goodbye to a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Bryan was born April 18, 1939, in New Orleans, La. He was the only child of Bruno Clement and Beulah Hymel Clement. After graduating from West Jefferson High School, Bryan attended Louisiana State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. It was there he met his wife, Barbara Ann Blossman. They were married for sixty years and were blessed with six children.
Bryan proudly served in the United States Air Force at which time he received his Master’s Degree in Economics from South Dakota State. He served for twenty-six years and retired as a Full Colonel. He and his family had wonderful experiences living in many states and living overseas during his years of service. Upon his retirement, Bryan worked as the Director of Public Works for the City of Mandeville and finished his career as the Project Engineer for the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.
Bryan, “Papere” to his family, along with his wife, loved hosting annual crawfish boils in the spring and family beach trips each summer. These occasions brought his large and growing family together. He looked forward to family dinners each night. The memory of Bryan enjoying his family brings comfort to those who loved him.
Bryan’s legacy continues with his wife Barbara Blossman Clement, affectionately known as “Mamere”, and their six children, thirteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Children Kevin (Dana) Clement, Michael (Barbie) Clement, Robert (Amanda) Clement, Kathryn (John) Thompson, Julie (Tom) Conklin and Edward (Renee) Clement. Grandchildren Chloe Conklin, Clayton Conklin, Riley (Carson) Baranik, Kristin Clement, Emily Clement, Nicholas LeBlanc, William Conklin, Payton Clement, Jeanne Marie Thompson, Bryan Clement, Hannah Clement, Harrison Conklin and Julia Clement. Great-grandchildren Joelle Baranik and Dean Baranik. Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, and granddaughter Holly Clement and grandson Edward Jules Clement.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the family home for a celebration of Bryan’s life on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
