Bruce Alan Haines' Obituary
Bruce Alan Haines left his family and friends on June 20,2022. He was born October 19, 1946 in Van Wert, Ohio to Mildred and Kenneth Haines.
Bruce graduated from Auburn University with a degree in ornamental horticulture. He was employed by several plant nurseries prior to owning his own nursery in Metarie, Louisiana. He then began a career in admissions at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. After retirement, he worked part-time until his death as a caregiver for Home Instead. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Methodist on the Northshore. He loved traveling, plants, flowers and people. He was especially proud of his plumeria plants. Bruce never met a stranger. He was happy, kind, devoted and fun. He was loved by everyone—especially his nieces and nephews.
Bruce is survived by five siblings—sisters, Jeannie Livesay and Carol Schumann (Gregg) and brothers, Kenny Haines (Sharon), Douglas Haines (Donna) and Dudley Haines. A special thanks goes to Kathy Kilgore and Orlando Evans, wonderful friends and supporters.
At this time a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
E.J. Fielding Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please sign the E.J. Fielding Funeral Home online Guest Book at www.ejfieldingfh.com.
