Bruce Vernon Corkern's Obituary
Bruce Vernon Corkern passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on the morning of October 5, 2022. He was born February 19, 1957, at McGehee Clinic in Franklinton, LA, to Vernon and Bertha Jenkins Corkern.
Bruce grew up loving the outdoors, being taught to hunt and fish by his dad and spending many hours on the Bogue Chitto River at Enon. He loved traveling, especially to Italy, and cooking good food. He spent his adult life in the golf business, beginning when he worked at Franklinton Country Club as a teenager. His talent at creating and maintaining beautiful courses took him to jobs in Lafayette and Covington, LA, Jackson, MS, the Florida Panhandle and Malta. He spent his last days at Cane Row Golf Club in New Iberia, LA.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Brian, as well as an infant brother, Mark. He is survived by his sister Marilyn Corkern Guild and her husband Howard, of Orinda, CA, niece Haley Guild Moore and sons Hunter and Miles of Orinda, CA, and nephew Dustin Corkern, his wife Lindsey and son Ryland, of Pearland, TX, plus many cousins and friends around the world.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Bogue Falaya Hall, 317 N. Jefferson Avenue, Covington, LA on Saturday, November 12, 2022, , at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM until service time.
