Brenda Warr Toups' Obituary
Brenda(Warr)Toups passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024. She was born in New Orleans, LA on January 27, 1949.
She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Joseph Toups; her daughter, Rebecca (Sunny) Ledoux, son in laws, Eric Braun and Raymond Arrasmith III, and stepdaughter Tiffany Toups; her grandchildren: Noah Braun, Brittany Arrasmith and Raymond (Bubby)Arrasmith IV; and great nephew Kristofer Warr.
She was preceded in death by her parents Irene Autin Warr and Joseph Warr Sr. sibling Joseph Warr Jr. and stepdaughter Jennifer (Toups) Arrasmith.
Brenda turned her love of reading into a career, first as a school librarian, and then went on to become the Director of Library Science for St. Charles Parish Public Schools. There she directed the district’s media centers, foreign language curricula and ESL program until she retired after 29 years to travel and spend time with her family.
A friend and colleague of Brenda’s remarked that she will be fondly remembered as a mentor, lifelong learner and champion of librarians, students, and faculty of St. Charles Parish Public Schools. Her professionalism, expertise, intellectual curiosity and love of public education have strengthened the district and its students.
Her family will remember her for her love of baking, science fiction movies and singing Barbara Streisand ballads. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Toups may be made to United Way of Southeast Louisiana.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM with visitation on Wednesday beginning at 9:30 AM.
