Bonnie Lea Windom Jourdan Welch's Obituary
Bonnie Lea Windom Jourdan Welch passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Covington, LA. She was born on September 25, 1937 in Folsom, LA to the late Oscar Van “Pete” Windom and Hazel Wallace Windom.
A native and lifelong resident of Covington, she is a graduate of Covington High School class of 1955. Born an only child, she will be remembered as a devoted daughter, who was especially dedicated to her mother. During her life Bonnie enjoyed careers at Bellsouth, St. Tammany Parish Clerk of Court’s Office and St. Tammany Parish Hospital, where she later retired. She found great joy spending time with her family, listening to music, playing scrabble, and doing word searches. Her family will remember her as a loving mother and wife, as well as an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother who gave the best hugs. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Bonnie was the cherished wife of the late Bruce G. Welch and the late Leroy Maurice Jourdan. She was the mother of Julia J. Marlar and her husband, Thomas, and Wallace K. Jourdan and his late wife, Lisa. Bonnie was the proud grandmother of Jessica M. Jenkins (Robert), Elizabeth M. Alpaugh (William), Katherine H. Marlar, Renee J. Allen (Jared), and Wallace K. Jourdan, Jr.; great-grandmother of Elise, Robbie, Payton, Christian, Paisley, Weston, Evelynn, and Gavin.
Funeral services will be held privately by the family at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433. Interment will follow the service at Allison Cemetery, Folsom, LA. Please Share a Memory on the Tribute Wall at www.ejfieldingfh.com.
