Mike, Cherie and Michael, my prayers have been ongoing for all of you I know there is void in your lives which can never be filled. Bonnie was a great wife, mom and grandmother.
There are so many memories I don't know how to put them into words.
I first meet Bonnie through Tommy and Mike, at a taxidermist convention. We became best friends on the first day. We used to laugh and say "we must have been sisters in another life and we picked right back up when united in this life".
We spent many of our best times together waiting for judges to finish scoring so we could record the sores to determine the ribbon winners. At many of these we know everyone would be looking at us and laughing, because we would get so cold, Bonnie would get table cloths to cover us with. Looking back now, I guess we did look funny.
Many nights Tommy and I stayed at the "Hotel Orillion", Bonnie and I would just chill out on the couch while Tommy and Mike was in Mikes shop or talking hunting stuff. We did not have to be doing anything special, we were ok just being together. One night Bonnie discovered I had never seen the Sound of Music, yep, you guessed it, we watched it the next night. Then it was the movie "its a wonderful life" yes, we watched it as well. Bonnie took me to my first real play in New Orleans. It was "Grease" and we sang with the performers till people started looking at us as if to say "quiet"
One day she called and asked if I could come and go to a Saint Patrick's day parade with her and her mom. I ending up bringing my mom with me. She and I laughed to see these older women fighting to get cabbage and potato's. As we were leaving she leaned over and whispered in my ear, "what are we going to do with 18 heads of cabbage.
Bonnie was always there for everyone, including me. She taught me it was okay to cry when sad and it was also okay to laugh when sad.
I remember our trip to Van's camp, we stayed up all night playing games and just having a good time, with other friends.
My two boys called her Miss Bonnie, but to my grandson Michael, she was always Aunt Bonnie.
Some of the most valued memories were going dancing with Mike and Bonnie. You have it, once they began dancing, we would all stop to watch. They had a unique style that could not be duplicated. Last year, Bonnie and Mike surprised us by coming to our grandsons wedding. We were all sitting together and all of the sudden I said, everyone watch this, they thought I meant the bride and groom, wrong, Mike and Bonnie had gotten up to dance and I wanted to make sure no one missed them. They took the spotlight from the happy couple for a few minutes
I could ramble on for hours about the good times we had together, but most important not only the good times did we share, we also shared the bad times. That's what being sisters by chose was all about.
Bonnie girl, I will always love you and I know we will all be together again in our heavenly home. I know you will continue to watch over all of us, because you walked as an angel among us and now you are our special angel watching from above.
Rest in Peace my dear friend
