Bonita Noel Provenzano Carter's Obituary
Bonita Noel Provenzano Carter, age 71, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on September 9, 2022. Bonita was born in New Orleans and was a true New Orleanian through and through. She attended St. Frances Cabrini for elementary school and Mount Carmel Academy for high school where she made lifelong friends.
Bonita is survived by her husband, Gary C. Carter, her three daughters, Brittany V. Carter, Christina N. Carter, and Amberleigh R. Carter, and her stepson, James C. Carter. Bonita is the sister of Renee Butler (Kevin). She is preceded in death by her father, Roy Louis Provenzano, Sr., her mother, Edna Monge Provenzano, and brother, Roy Provenzano, Jr. (Cindy).
Bonita was proud to be a New Orleans native and cherished her memories of growing up in the Lakefront area, enjoying the Vista Shores Country Club, trips to Pontchartrain Beach, rooting on her Saints, and enjoying a crispy oyster poboy. As a Christmas baby, Bonita Noel was a true gift. She absolutely loved Mr. Bingle and enjoyed filling the house with Mr. Bingle decorations every Christmas. Her life was rooted in a strong foundation of Catholic faith, and she had an especially strong connection with the Blessed Mother. Bonita enjoyed making a beautiful home and always brought her family together with her delicious gourmet cooking, with love always being the first ingredient. Her relationship dynamic with Gary was hilarious. As she was the voice of reason for him, he used his playful banter and boyish nature to incessantly embarrass her to "keep the fight in that woman".
Bonita was business savvy and had an entrepreneurial spirit. Her successful and diversified career included being Gary's business partner in the electrical construction industry. Her sacrificial love for her daughters was immeasurable and unmatched, and she loved her stepson as her own; and in return, she created a family that shared an unbreakable bond and would have done absolutely anything for her. She was selfless, warm, lovely, compassionate, and the best listener. She was always so poised and classy, and pretty things brought her the ultimate lighthearted joy in life. Her tender smile and soulful laugh were undeniable, and all who had the privilege of knowing her always described her as "the best". She loved to live life in full bloom.
In honor of Bonita's love for pink roses, please feel free to wear something pink or similarly cheerful to the services.
