Bobby Blackwell's Obituary
Bobby Blackwell entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the age of 88. He was born on July 12, 1934 in Franklinton, LA to Greal and Mary Stafford Blackwell.
Bobby is survived by his bonus children, Matt Burr (Betsy) and Kasie Burr (Nicole); his bonus grandchildren, Briggs and Bregman Burr; his sister, Margie Jones; sister-in-law, Helen Galloway (Kenneth); and his bonus family, Carmen Mizell, Darrell and Annette Baham. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jimmy Cox, Debbie Cox, Kenneth Galloway, Jr., Andrew Galloway, Tina Willie and Katie Wales.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Edith Blackwell; brothers, Verdie, Billy and Vernon; sister-in-law, Betty Hunt (Lawrence) and Neva Glass; brother-in-law, Thomas Willie (Mary); nephew, Ronnie Willie and bonus family, Scott Crawford.
Bobby and Edith helped raise many Folsom children but two very special as their own, Matt and Kasie Burr.
Bobby was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed by the St. Tammany School Board for many years before retirement.
Bobby was compassionate, loving and caring person to all. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was well respected and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bobby’s spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memoires of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.
Pallbearers will be Matt Burr, Briggs Burr, Joey Addison, Mike Alford, Darryl Baham, Jimmy Cox, Little Jimmy Cox and Seager Knox.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at Alex P. Blackwell Cemetery, Mockingbird Hill Road, Folsom, Louisiana on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
