Billy Byron Booth of Covington went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2020 at the age of 74 after a fierce fight with COVID-19 pneumonia. He is preceded in death by his parents Maidie Pearl Combs Booth and Thurman “Dutch” W Read Obituary
Although I did not know Billy well, just in passing at work, I remember Billy as a quiet soul at the office. I did however, meet a man in a coffee shop one day who knew Billy well and through conversation, found Billy to be a child of God. It is good when people speak well of you. Rest in Peace with Christ Jesus, brother Billy. M- at TSA.
Sad to hear of Billy's passing, but so happy to hear that he is with our Lord and Savior. I always enjoyed my time with Billy when ever our paths crossed during training across the country for TSA. I will miss seeing him at these training sessions, but look forward to seeing him again.
Sorry to hear of Billy’s passing, but know he is with the Lord. Enjoyed being in Sunday School at First Baptist of Kenner with Billy and Teresa. He was always interested in our ministry at Global Maritime Ministries. Praying for Theresa and the family.

Well written obituary. I’m glad it mentioned Billy was a faithful Christian. I knew him to love the Lord and humbly serve His church in many ways including deacon, project committee leader, go-fer, and bass choir member. We miss him for now but will see him before long in heaven!

A life well lived and taken too soon. A giant of faith and a rock of strength. A gentle soul and an oak of righteousness. Billy Booth was all these descriptions and so much more! I once told him he should write a book. He had 1 of the most interesting life stories with his days in security and living abroad. A jack of many trades as there was seemingly nothing he could not do. He was a gentle giant who loved well. A true ambassador for Christ. A voice of wisdom with a heart of gold. I will never forget his kind expressions and deep bounding voice belting out hymns at a moments notice. A servant leader who quietly worked behind the scenes never expecting recognition. A true patriarch to his family providing support in every way. Billy lived out these verses as an elder in his family and church...”Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.“ 1 Peter 5:2-4
Billy Booth shepherded well all that was entrusted to him and invested well in the things that don’t perish but last for Eternity. He left a legacy of faith for us to follow in his footsteps.

So sorry to hear of Billy's passing. I had the honor of working with him at the State Police. Billy was a good friend and all around great guy. Although I hadn't seen him in a number of years, I did run into him some years ago at an airport and spent a while catching up on old times. I will keep him and all of you in my thoughts and prayer.

We at St Rose Community Church will miss Billy tremendously ... his willingness to pitch in, guide, and serve wherever he was needed. Even though I only worked with Billy for a short time he was a great guy with great jokes. I will miss the weather report emails. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
