Bill R. Bond's Obituary
Bill R. Bond passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010. He was born August 14, 1931 in Lumberton, MS to the late Port and Eunice Moffitt Bond and has been a resident of Covington for many years.
The beloved husband of Clara Holder Cooper Bond for 30 years, he is survived by one sister, Dorothy Cascio; two brothers, Darden and Jerry Bond all of Mississippi; two step daughters, Carol Cooper Walters, Debra Cooper Martineau; four step-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; eight nieces and nine nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lorina Ball.
Mr. Bond’s life was a mission for Christ. His career in construction and dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ led him, along with his wife Clara, to become the founders of The Way Builders Ministry. Under their leadership, this work program brought many wayward souls to Christ and changed many lives.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at Harvest Family Church, 17197 North I-12 Service Rd., Hammond, LA 70403 on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM.
A wake is scheduled for Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 6-9:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours AT THE CHURCH on Monday will begin at 9:00 AM.
Interment at Garden of the Pines Cemetery in Covington will immediately follow services.
