Beverly Russell Halbrook's Obituary
Beverly Russell Halbrook, at the age of 88, peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, October 6, 2023, in Covington, LA. She was born in New Orleans, LA on December 30, 1934, to the late Oscar Russell and Elizabeth Agnus Fank Russell.
She is survived by her children, Matthew Halbrook (Rebecca) and Kelly Halbrook Bement (B.J.). Beverly was the proud grandmother of Rachel Elizabeth Halbrook and Tristan Michael Halbrook. She is also survived by a host of wonderful lifelong friends.
Beverly is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Marvin Ray Halbrook, her son, Brandon Michael Halbrook; her parents, Oscar and Elizabeth Russell, and her siblings, Floyd Russell and Marilyn Russell Larmeu.
She was a native of New Orleans, LA and was a resident of Mandeville, LA for 38 years, Beverly graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School and worked as a clerk for Texaco Oil. Beverly was a lifelong Lutheran. Her faith was gentle but strong. It permeated her every word and deed. She spent many hours making wonderful things for others. If you were the recipient of one of her creations, you could feel the love in every seam and stitch. Everyone considered her sweet, kind, warm and loving. To quote a friend, “she had a subtle but brilliant (and adorable) sense of humor”.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 11:00 am in the chapel of E J Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA and the visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
