Betty Lucille Silver Lacoste's Obituary
Betty Lucille Silver Lacoste, affectionately known as “Mimi”, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the age of 96.
She was born on March 31, 1929, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Manuel J. Silver, Sr. and Lucille Wichterich Silver. She was the sister of the late Manuel J. Silver, Jr. and Marvin G. Silver. Mrs. Lacoste was a resident of Mandeville, Louisiana, for over 30 years.
She was married for 65 years to her late beloved husband, Richard Hughes Lacoste. They had two daughters, Cheryl L. Budd (Joseph) and Deborah L. Woods (Stephen). She will be dearly missed by her two grandsons, Patrick S. Woods (Hannah) and Ryan M. Woods (Bernadette). Betty was so very proud of her nine great-grandchildren, Faith W. Jackson (Rowan), Kyla A. Woods, Calli P. Woods, Dayton L. Woods, Deegan R. Woods, Riley J. Woods, Lydia G. Woods, Chase P. Woods, and Samuel B. Woods. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Louise T. Silver; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Betty treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved being their Mimi. She cherished her family and friends and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with inurnment to follow.
