I am so sorry to hear this. My name is Michael, and I was a student of Mrs Ketchum-Baehr. In doing research while trying to contact her family, I came across this.
I wanted to let her family know that she profoundly affected my life. When there were hoards of people trying to destroy my esteem at St Thomas, Mrs Ketchum's daughter, Judy, was someone that made me feel like it was okay to be alive.
Thank you Mrs Betty K Ketchum for raising such a wonderful human being.
I think of her often, and I rest assured that she is with her mother now.
Thank you!

Nancy, Kathy and Peggy,
Your mom was such a strong and loving person. I was always amazed at how she remembered details of our childhood. We had a good neighborhood. I am thankful that we were able to visit in March. She said she was going to be able to give our love to all the loved ones we have lost. I love you Miss Betty.

Betty and I were class mates at St. James Major & Mt. Carmel. Got acquainted with her again when her daughter, Judy, was so sick. They would come stay a night with me in Houston when traveling through. Sorry, Betty, that I did not get to spend more time with you after moving back to N.O.. I know God will be gracious to you.

I am so happy that my mom ( Socorro ) and I went to visit Betty several times recently. I told her that she was the reason I was a nurse because she brought the information for nursing school to my parents attention . I didn't know what I was planning to do with my life after high school and going to vocational school to become an LPN for 1 year seemed like a good option. The rest is history and I am so happy I had a history with Betty. Her faith was so strong that after visiting her I also felt my faith become stronger. My prayers are with you all.
Love,
Sonia and Curt
I have so many memories of Miss Betty, but the most vivid is standing in her den looking at the fire trucks putting out our house fire. She and Mr. Tom took us in like we were family. Miss Betty, I know you are smiling up in heaven holding Judy in yours arms! Tell Loyce and Elden hello!!
Love always,

Mrs Betty will always be in my heart for the kindness she always showed me and my family! Especially my son Daniel who as a child. Mrs Betty along with her family, often spent weekends with him, showing him Love Faith & Encouragement!! I will always look at Mrs Betty as my Angel on Earth an now in Heaven.... ;) ~Trish
Mrs ketchum fed me breakfast almost every day in elementary school. Toast sliced diagonally and milk. Judy and I would eat and walk to school. May God bring the famy strength they need to carry on after such a devastating loss.
I was friends with the Ketchum girls, went to school with Judy, who I think about often, and I remember like it was yesterday how protective Mrs ketchum, along with Tom, were of the girls and their interaction with their peers, and I thought it was fearing them that I felt, but it was respect...and I'm so sorry I didn't get back in town to see them..rest in peace Mrs. Ketchum...you've earned it...tom sabella
