Bertrand F. Schleismann's Obituary
Bertrand F. Schleismann was born April 19, 1924 in New Orleans, LA. He passed from this life August 14, 2011 to join his beloved wife, the late Gloria Beninato Schleismann at age 87.
Loving father of Danny Schleismann, Greg Schleismann (wife, Ann), Philip Schleismann, Sr. (wife, Myra), Donna Schleismann Clement (husband, Gary), and Annie Schleismann Gonzales (husband, Merlin). Devoted “PawPaw” of Eric (Kelly), Kevin, Philip, Jr., Myra, Alexa (Curtis), Katie, Kayla and Andrew. Great Grandfather of Keely and Alana. Son of the late Agnes and Philip Schleismann. Survived by one brother, Irwin Schleismann; sister-in-law, Catherine Schleismann; brother-in-law, Roy Sprague; and lifelong friend, J.J. Witmeyer. Bert was also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
At the age of 20 Bert proudly served his country on the battlefields of Europe earning the Combat Infantry Badge, Soldier’s Medal, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart. Bert passed on his love of family and tremendous faith to his children and grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM with visitation on Thursday from 12:00 noon until Mass time. Interment will follow in St. Dominic Cemetery.
