Dean Hughes
Dear Family of Mr. Bert,
I was saddened to hear of Mr Bert passing away. He hired me in 1983 and allowed me to become part of a very good privately held company that began in 1952. His vision allowed it to grow and prosper when he was placed in control of it.
There was an "aura" about Mr. Bert that kept a lot of people from getting close to him. But I knew him to be a very unselfish and interesting person. And when it was time for him to retire, he chose to not maximize his financial interest in this company and allowed the remaining employees to buy him out at a price that was extremely fair and reasonable--in addition to allowing us to maintain our independence. There are not many men on this earth that would have walked away from the opportunity that Mr. Bert did to have maximized his personal financial situation by selling the company to the highest bidder. That says everything about the kind of man he really was deep down inside and was fortunate to have known him.
I am just happy that he was able to live a long and enjoyable retirement.
Rest in peace Mr. Bert,
Sincerely, Dean Hughes
