Bernard Comenge's Obituary
Bernard "Brother" F. Comenge, Sr.
Bernard "Brother" F. Comenge, Sr., 83, passed away at home on Thursday, April 14, 2016. He was a longtime resident of Covington. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Bernard Comenge and Jeanne L. Comenge and his sister Jeanne Cox Gillio.
He was the dedicated husband of 53 years of Lucie Ann Hebert Comenge and the father of two sons, Bernard F. Comenge, Jr., and Brian H. Comenge (Kristy), and a daughter, Andrea Comenge Durey (Dan). He was the grandfather of Collin R. Comenge, Christian H. Comenge, Connor E. Comenge, Caden R. Comenge, Cate G. Comenge, Logan H. Durey, Miya L. Durey and Alayna H. Durey. He is also survived by his nephews Rene and Craig Cox and many other special nieces and nephews.
Brother was involved for many years in Little League baseball and was an active member of the Krewe of Kaa Cee and Jaycees. He was lifetime parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University. He owned and operated the family business Comenge Roofing and Sheet Metal.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 East 19th Ave., Covington LA, 70433. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church.
Interment will follow the mass at St. Joseph Abbey.
