Benny Anthony Urrata's Obituary
Benny Anthony Urrata passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the age of 81.
Beloved husband of the late Sandra Carey Urrata. Loving father of Pam Ekman, Dawn Urrata, George “Buddy” Urrata and Carey Urrata. Father-in-law to Larry Ekman, Dee Urrata, and Danielle Urrata. Son of the late Arthemise “Arty” Ann Ziegler Urrata and Fidelfo “Dave” Urrata. Brother of Cirino Urrata, Henry Urrata and the late Grace Gambino. Also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Benny was a US Navy Veteran, a retired employee of Illinois Central Railroad retiring in 1999 with forty years of commendable service. He was a member of American Legion Post16.
Thank you Daddy for your love, sacrifice and guiding principles that assisted us in building our own successful lives. You lived by your codebook, a man of strength who faced any challenge directly with the will to overcome. You taught us this power and we are forever grateful. We will always pray for your peace in the cradle of God.
Thank you Dwayne Payne for being with us till the end. You are a true friend.
Our family invites you to attend the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM with visitation on Wednesday beginning at 12:00 noon.
Interment will follow in Holmes Cemetery.
