Benjamin Francis White's Obituary
Benjamin Francis White passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the age of 87.
Beloved husband by first marriage to the late June Irving White and by second marriage to Patricia Synan White. Loving father of Glen and Richard. Son of the late Myrtle Cockerham White and Leonce White. Brother of the late Lester, Helen, Nellie and James. Grandfather of Jessica, Briana and Brennan. Great-grandfather of Ava and Dean Kuruzovich.
Mr. White served his country with the rank of Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He was awarded the Silver Star, Purple Heart, World War II Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Medal and additional awards.
After service to his country, Mr. White worked in the construction industry and was responsible for many important buildings in the New Orleans area.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471 on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11:30 AM with visitation at church on Monday beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. White to be made to The Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 741.
