I’m in shock and heartbroken to hear of Ben’s passing, time slips by and today I thought of him.Ben and myself go back to the early 80’s living in the Adirondack Mountains meeting in High School then We lived together in our Teenage Years drifted apart but reconnected in 2007 in NYC.. He spoke of you Samantha in such a loving way. I’m years late in hearing this but he was a sweet guy and I loved him for his spirit and kindness.
I am so sorry to hear of Ben passing away. It was quiet a shock to see this. It makes me realize that life has unexpected twist and turns. Ben was one of the most positive people I have ever known, and I am glad we were friends and he will be in my thoughts, as will his family. I am so sorry to learn of Mr. Begley's passing. He was a very helpful neighbor and friend to Leroy Smith during his recent illness and death. Ben had a big heart and was so well thought of by Lee.
It was a shock to hear about Ben's passing. He was a quirky guy with a big smile.

Not many people would go as far as Ben would for his friends. He was always ready to lend you a hand, an ear, and practically any tool imaginable! Whatever it was you needed, Ben was there to help. He'd bend over backwards for his friends, and people like that are few and far between these days. He was also one of the most intelligent men I knew. Ben was a jack-of-all-trades, fixing anything and everything.... whether it needed fixin' or not! He would also kick my butt in Scrabble every single time we played, and Ben would complete the Sunday crossword puzzles before finishing his 2nd cup of coffee. He knew a little something about everything and was always your "go to" guy. Sam, your dad has always been so proud of you and loved you more than anything. Stay strong. He was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed.
Dear Begleys, I am so sorry to learn of your loss of Ben. I only recently had the privilege of meeting him. I felt that he was an instant friend - warm, confident, and full of life and love. He would cross the street and visit my aging father, who deeply appreciated Ben's visits. Ben would listen while he told his WWII stories. My heart, and my family's heart, goes out to your family.
Like his fellow divers, Benny was a totally different breed of man. The "Band of Brothers" has lost a core member in Benny.
Samantha has lost her biggest fan; her Dad adored her. No doubt, he is keeping a watchful eye from another place, just out of reach, but always right here.
Benny worked hard, he played hard, he lived large...he was a force of nature with a huge capacity for hard work, love, life and laughter.
He has left all of us with cherished memories that make it impossible not to smile when we think of him.
We have lost one of the great ones. Benny's philosophy of embracing life and living it to the fullest is his legacy to us.
I believe we honor him by living on and giving it all we've got until time re-unites us in the next place.
His adored Sam, his family, all of those who grieve his passing are in our thoughts and prayers. He will be greatly missed, but as with all things that are unique and rare, never forgotten.
Sorry to hear of your loss. My condolences to Ben's family I worked with Ben at SUB SEA INT. between 1985 to 1988.
Ben was a divers diver. Always looking out for his fellow brother in the water. Gods Speed Ben and your in my prayers.
