Becky Lacey's Obituary
Becky Lacey gained her angel wings peacefully on February 22, 2024, surrounded by her family, after 66 years loving anyone and everyone she ever met.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Maudine and Benjamin Sossaman, and her brother Ben.
She is survived by her husband Mark; her daughter Shelby (Chad), her son Shawn, her son Johnny; and her grandchildren Jaxon, Lane and Paisley. She is also survived by her sister Sally, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Originally from Gentilly, she graduated from Academy of Holy Angels in 1975 and then went on to graduate from Auburn University, class of 1992. She completed her BA in Psychology. She owned an Arts & Crafts store with a teaching studio from 1986-1990 (The Craft Company). Her sales in her art store developed from selling Real Estate and Life Insurance, which she won Salesmanship awards for both. She was a dedicated member of Parkview Baptist Church where she enjoyed preparing meals for the members every Wednesday night. She was a certified foster parent, her love for children was never ending.
She will be remembered for her big smile, even bigger heart, warm hugs and greetings for everyone she met. She loved creatures big and small, whether it be a child or any type of animal. If there was a stray, she took it in and cared for it.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service on the 16th of March at 306 Legendre Dr. Slidell, LA 70460 for 1PM. Her life was a palette of colors, so her family asks that you wear something colorful to celebrate her zeal for life. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Lung Association.
