Bartholomew M. "Bart" Palmisano, Sr.'s Obituary
Bartholomew M. “Bart” Palmisano passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Hospice Care in St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his father Michael A. Palmisano and his mother Althea Rushing Palmisano.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Ballard Palmisano, his son Bart Palmisano, Jr.
(Sheri), his daughter Kimberly Palmisano Allen (Matthew), his grandchildren: Justin Patterson (Liz), Kayce Ingram, Phillip Palmisano (Jocelyn), Lauren Palmisano, George Allen and three great grandchildren Alex Patterson, Eliza Patterson, and Paisley Palmisano.
Included in his survivors are one sister, Aline Palmisano Vitale (Joe) and two brothers, Mike Palmisano, Jr. (Pam) and Tony Palmisano (Eva).
Bart was born in New Orleans and grew up helping his parents in their grocery on Gravier St. He graduated from Warren Easton High in 1964 and Southeastern Louisiana University in 1968, majoring in Marketing. He had a natural gift for sales and rose to the top in every place he worked: Wilson and Co, John Morrell, Lykes, Associated Grocers of Baton Rouge and finally on his own at Pals Supermarket Of Baton Rouge and Supermarket Profit Solutions.
Quite simply, he loved his family, his friends, and all the people he met through his business.
He was truly a "people person" and he was loved by all.
He will be missed.
Bart will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hospice team at St. Tammany. These ladies truly do the work of angels. Their beautiful prayer quilt is a lasting comfort to grieving families. Donations may be sent to: Sewing and Crafting Servants/Barbara Keller
