Barney Hugh Westbrook's Obituary
Barney Hugh Westbrook passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024 at the age of 94. He was born on October 16, 1930 in Bude, Mississippi to the late Charles Rayford Westbrook and Mary Perdelia Westbrook.
He is survived by his daughters, Laura W. Fisher (Ralph), Lydia W. Vaughn (Michael) and Lisa W. Plunkett (Lawrence), his grandchildren Neil Fisher (Renee), Ryan Fisher (Andrea), Sean Fisher (Mistelle), Christine Roubion (Jennifer), David Roubion (Kelly), Abbey Vaughn Lockwood (Adam), Michael Vaughn (Aimee), Tucker Plunkett, Analise Plunkett and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Barney was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Pauline Westbrook Hamilton, Mavis Marie Westbrook, Charles Rayford Westbrook, Harlan Ezekiel Westbrook, Ralph Westbrook and Lucille Lesby Westbrook.
Barney proudly served in the United States Air Force for twenty years, reaching the rank of Technical Sergeant. He travelled throughout the world in support of the thousands of soldiers defending our freedom in wars and conflicts. He had a successful career as a diesel mechanic at United Parcel Service. He retired to his home state of Mississippi, and spent many happy years on his farm.
The family gratefully thanks all who provided care and support in his later years.
