Barney Lee Fincher's Obituary
Barney Lee Fincher entered eternal rest with his wife and daughters by his side with Penny and Paul, on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Born in Monroe, La on February 14, yes, a valentine baby, Barney was a long-time resident of Bush and Covington, La. He grew up in Franklinton and Mt Hermon (Mt. Pisgah), Louisiana where he learned the country way of life, grew to know the Lord, dairy farms, horses, and roller skating. A true country boy, nickname “Rooster”, who enjoyed many a ride on the Harley and the simple life. He had a heart of gold.
Barney is survived by his wife of 37 years, Anita Holden Fincher, two beautiful daughters and sons (in law); Melissa (Kevin) Watkins and Leanne (Dominick) Bourgeois. The role in life he loved most was being “POP” to three precious grandchildren Korbin, Berkley and Kensley.
He is also survived by special foster parents, Brother Gerald and Kathy Wright; hosts of nieces and nephews, some special relationships, Angie and Casey; some lifelong friends – Benji, Jeff, Dale and many friends along the way. He never met a stranger.
He is also survived by his siblings Judy Pittman (Winn), Jimmy Fincher, Jerry Fincher (Rose), and Patricia Garner.
Barney is preceded in death by his parents Barney Ray Fincher and Lizzie Bell Evans, and brothers, Sammy and Bobby Fincher.
He was a longtime employee of Candies Excavation and most recently worked for Ohmstede doing refinery turn arounds.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433, on Wednesday June 9, 2021, at 3:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 1 PM.
