Barbara K. Prosser's Obituary
Barbara K. Prosser passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8th, at the age
of 79. Barbara, often known as Baba, was born in New Orleans, LA, Oct 1, 1944 to
Willie Mae (Cutts) Kimbrell, and Seth A. Kimbrell.
Baba is survived by her loving husband Ian D. Prosser, her god-daughter, Eliana
M.T. Becnel, and her nieces Cathryn Jane Hill, Diana Mary Hill Young and
Kimberly Oliver Lee.
Baba was a life-long educator in the St. Tammany school system, the majority of
her career she served as the Principal of South East Louisiana State Hospital
School.
An open-minded, animal loving, diet (and regular - mixed!) coke drinking,
gardener who was quick to offer a smile as well as a bit of advice; her kindness
and elegance reverberated with all, and made you feel genuinely welcomed into
her world.
Baba will be missed more than words, however eloquent, can express.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please consider memorial contributions in
Baba’s honor to the North Shore Humane Society
(www.northshorehumane.org/give).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Baba’s Celebration of Life service at E.
