Barbara Rose Hertz Fisher's Obituary
Barbara Rose Hertz Fisher passed away on Saturday, July 15th, 2023, after an extended struggle with Alzheimer's disease, at the age of 89.
Barbara is survived by her loving son, Albin Charles “Chuck” Fisher III and loving daughter-in-law, Brandi Suggs Fisher, grandmother of Tobie Fisher-Magee and Alexis Rain Fisher.
She is preceeded in death by her husband Albin Charles “Sonny” Fisher Jr., her parents Toby Lang and Anna Miriam Hertz, and her brother Toby L. Hertz Jr.
A native of Pensacola, Florida, Barbara attended the University of Alabama where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Education and a lifelong love affair with Crimson Tide Football. Anyone who knew Barbara knows she bled Crimson until the end.
Upon graduating Barbara moved to New Orleans where she met her husband of 58 years. They later moved to Mandeville where they lived another 40 years.
Barbara was very active in the community, serving on the boards of such groups as Northlake Newcomers, the Garden Club, a member of Petroleum Wives, Razzle Dazzle Red Hat, and an original rider in the Eve parade, for nearly 30 years.
Barbara had an exceptional sweet spot for Tobie’s husband, William Alexander “Alex” Magee, and Alexis’ boyfriend Jakob Denis Molloy. As well as her friend, caregiver, and Angel on Earth, Lucinda Roberts.
Barbara was a true Southern lady and the epitome of class in every sense of the word. A born optimist and an all around sweet, beautiful person…she will be missed beyond belief.
