Avery Matthew Mooney, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Avery Matthew Mooney, Sr. passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the age of 82.
He was born on November 6, 1933 in Folsom, La to his parents, the late Huey Matthew Mooney, Sr. and Laura Mae Willie Mooney.
Avery served his country in the United States Air Force. While stationed on Chelveston Air Force Base near Northamptonshire, England he met and married his late wife Eileen Rose Johnson. He was the beloved father of Avery M., Jr. (Jackie), Laura M. Holden (Jimmie), Russell E., Hollis R. (Diane), Thomas C. (Teri), Michael H. (Jennifer), Sherry M. Bovie (Bradley), and the late Jeannie Marie and Calvin Leonard. He was the brother of Juanita Kuhn Taylor, Callie Ruth Keating, and the late Helen Oulliber, Roy Mooney, Dorothy Shockley, Huey Matthew Mooney, Jr., Doenice Mooney, Maurice “Moe” Preston Mooney and Hollis Mooney.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and his wife Ollie Mae Willie. He was preceded in death by 1 grandson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at1:00 PM with visitation on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 AM.
