Ava Nell Turner Cheek's Obituary
Ava Nell Turner Cheek passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Covington, LA. She was born on August 9, 1924 in Lamesa, TX to the late Austin Leslie Turner, Sr. and Virginia Rose Moffat Turner.
Ava is survived by her beloved husband, Clyde C. Cheek, and their two children, Karen C. Landers of Mandeville, LA, and Terry T. Cheek of Colleyville, TX. She was the loving grandmother of Matthew M. Landers of Madisonville, LA, Casey L. Landers of Houston, TX, and Daniel P. Cheek of Rosenburg, TX. Ava was the proud great-grandmother of Carter Landers, Reese Landers, Aiden Cheek, Carrington Cheek, and Riley Cheek. She was the sister of the late Austin L. Turner, Jr. Ava is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Graveside Service at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Big Springs, TX 79720 on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Ava Nell asked that folks make a modest donation to help deserving members of her favorite marching band organization, a group she had belonged to and passionately supported: "The Goin' Band from Raiderland."
