Augustus Bau Lake's Obituary
Augustus “Bau” Lake, March 15, 1951-April 10, 2010.
Beloved husband of Ruthie Lake.
Bau was born in New Orleans and moved to the northshore in 1998 where he joined the Mandeville Lions Club. He was a member of both the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation and Louisiana Lions Cripple Children’s Camp. He served many positions in his club including President, and Zone and Region Chairperson. In 2005-2006, Bau served as a District Governor and also served on several Lions International Committees during his years of service to Lionism. In 2006 he received the second highest award given by Lions International which is the Presidential Award.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Hammond Lake, Sr. He is survived by a son, John T. Wilkerson; daughter-in-law, Fritzi Worn-Wilkerson; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Charles; a sister, Julie Penick; brother-in-law, William S. Penick; brother, James Hammond Lake, Jr.; sister-in-law Angela Lake; several nieces and nephew; and great-nieces and great-nephews; and all of his Lions family.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Chapel, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 with visitation on Monday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
Interment will be in Beech Island, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Lake be made to St. Tammany Hospice, Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation or Louisiana Lions Cripple Children’s Camp.
