Audrey Helen Six Pratt's Obituary
Audrey Six Pratt, a long-time resident of St. Bernard Parish, passed away on April 12, 2018 at her home in Mandeville, LA. The original “steel magnolia” was 93 years young.
Born in New Orleans on July 7, 1924 to Helen and George Six, Sr., Audrey was the epitome of selflessness and perseverance. As her late husband Tom would say, “Aud was worth crossing a room for” and he did so for all 65 years of their marriage. A pioneer of her time, at an early age Audrey went to work to help support her family. Employed as a seamstress for over a decade, she would later teach her daughters, who would in turn teach their daughters, how to sew.
A true matriarch, Audrey is survived by her children: Dianne Muller, Kathleen Willis, Marleen Billiot {husband, Chuck}, and Tommy Pratt, Jr. {wife, Cyndi}; grandchildren: Adam Muller {wife, Raquel}, Noah Muller {wife, Laura}, Jessica Blackmon Rychlicki {husband, Matt}, Bradley Willis {wife, Marie}, Shannon Willis, Tracy Duplantier, Neil Duplantier {wife, Amy Rivere Duplantier}, Chrissie Billiot Scharfenstein {husband, Scott}, Taylor Pratt, Regan Pratt; great grandchildren: Juliana Muller, Aaron Muller, Adelaide Muller, and Jacques Willis as well as a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply. Audrey is preceded in death by her adoring husband Thomas Pratt, Sr.; her siblings: George Six, Jr., Catherine Fos, and Albert Six; Son-In-Law, Wayne Willis and grandchildren: Lauren Muller and Charie Billiot. Known for saying, “I love all my children”, she always had a kind word, a warm embrace and an endless amount of time for her family.
Audrey only saw the good in people and always rooted for the underdog – “poor fellas”. She was a prayerful woman and encouraged everyone to look to God for direction, steadfast that everything happens for a reason and that the best is yet to come. An avid believer that you are only as old as you feel, Audrey showed us how to live everyday with zest, never missing an opportunity to jump rope, play jacks on the floor, and even zip-line.
The family would especially like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the amazing nurses and staff at Passages Hospice and wonderful sitters and staff at About You Sitting Services. Their support was immeasurable.
