Both Ron and I send you our deepest sympathy in the loss of your husband "Pete". Every time we think of him, we see him by the poker machine in the bar at Tiffany's.
Fortunately, for all of us, Time Heals and in time, wonderful memories remain,
Sincerely,
Ron and Beryl
To: Mrs. Brenda Kennedy Shiflett and your loving family: I had to write when I read of "Pete's" passing in the Times Picayune. I was a single mother with two small children in the late '70's and in the 80's. I worked with "Pete" as he was a subcontractor to a General Contractor I was working for at that time. I will never forget, him. I believe "Pete" had a soft heart because I was a single, divorced mother with two small children struggling to raise on my own. Years and years ago, it was near Christmas time, I can recall "Pete" saying "Miss Ann, what do you want Santa to bring you?" Knowing he was in the glass industry, I said "I have two broken windows on my home and I would like them fixed", "Pete" knew I could afford nothing. That very same day, I came home from work and low and behold my two broken windows on my home were fixed. You see, God sends good people your way when you are down and in need. "Pete" was that wonderful, kind, giving person. I wanted all of you to know my story; as I will never forget "Pete" for the heart he had and because he felt for me when I was down in life. As I said, it has been nearly 25 years ago that "Pete" helped me, but his kind act will never be forgotten in my heart and mind.
Jennifer, I'm sorry to hear the news about your dad. He was such a nice and caring man. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. Hold your faith strong; you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Love always, Tiff
We are very sorry to hear of Pete passing away. Our prayers are with all of the family. I knew Pete well as a youth and we played sports a lot. Pete was a very good person and we will miss him. (Good ball player too) I always asked about Pete when I stopped by Sammy's station in Crimora. Donnie Fisher
I'm very sorry for your loss and I hope that you and your family can find strength in your faith.
