Art Lemane, Jr.'s Obituary
Arthur C. Lemane, Jr. passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 in Gonzales, Louisiana. He was born on Thursday, April 14, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Hazel Evangeline Smith and Arthur Clement Lemane, Sr. Art was a well-known local photographer in Covington, LA for many decades. He attended LSU and was a member of the LSU Tiger Marching Band before entering the US Navy in 1951. He was a Naval photographer during the Korean War. Art loved his family, friends, photography, traveling, drawing, arts, music, movies, LSU Tigers and his dogs.
The beloved husband of the late Gail Sander Lemane, he is survived by
seven children - Elizabeth Lemane Davis, Lynda Lemane Crockett (Gary), Arthur C. Lemane III, Kathleen Lemane Core (Patrick), Victor E. Lemane (Aimee), Jennifer Lemane Leonard (Scott) and Michael John Lemane (Keri); 22 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
He will also be missed by his nieces Suzanne King Hughson (Bob), Janel King Kmitch (Gordon), and his nephew “Jerry” Gerald David King, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister - Isabelle Lemane King.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours on Wednesday will begin at 9:00 AM.
Interment at Garden of the Pines in Covington, LA will immediately follow services.
