Brenda will remember this... 24 years ago my daughter, Brandi, was in Brenda's preschool class. One day I picked her up from school and she mentioned that Anton had visited that day. "Mom!", she said. "Mrs. Brenda's husband is sooo handsome!". And then she added, "He looks just like Elvis!". What a wonderful husband and father you were blessed with, my sweet friend Brenda. I never had the pleasure of meeting Officer Schwartz, but my wife loved him dearly at Northlake Christian. She spoke of what an impact that he made on her and how special he made her feel, how he always had time to talk, and was one of the friendliest people she ever met. To read all the posts that have been written about Officer Schwartz and to hear my wife speak so highly of him, I wish I had the opportunity to know him. If life is measured in the people that you touch, the Officer Schwartz was certainly a wealthy man. May he reap all the rewards in heaven of the seeds he had sewn.
Anton was an iconic figure at the Mandeville Police Department. He was a cops' cop. I loved hearing him tell war stories of working at NOPD in the late 60's. He truly loved working with the kids as a DARE Officer and considered each one of them "his kids." As much as Anton loved being a police officer, he loved his family more and would often say how proud he was of Anton and Kristel for their accomplishments. On behalf of the men and women at the Mandeville Police Department, I extend my heartfelt sympathy and prayers for God's sustaining grace for each of you as you endure this trying time.

Officer Schwarz was the DARE officer when my daughter was in school. She and all of her classmates LOVED him. We couldn't hear enough about Officer Schwarz. The kids felt that they could talk to him, and he listened, which is very important at that age.
