Anne Worthington Elder Blythe's Obituary
Anne Worthington Elder Blythe passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017, in Covington LA, at the age of 92. Mrs. Blythe was born in New Orleans, LA on August 22, 1925 and moved to Baton Rouge, LA in 1954. Anne was a volunteer at Woman’s Hospital for many years, a member of Court St. Louis #1816, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Altar Society at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She was the beloved wife of the deceased John I. “Rudy” Blythe of New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Elder and Henrietta Louise McMillan “Honey” Elder, a sister, Henrietta Louise Elder Ellis, a brother, William Henry Elder, Jr., a sister, Elizabeth Elder DeLaup, and a brother, Henry McMillan Elder, who was killed in World War II. Anne is survived by a daughter, Anne Blythe Brooks, a son, John Innerarity Blythe, Jr., a daughter, Audley Blythe Loewen, a daughter, Susan Blythe Williams, a daughter, Mary Forbes Blythe, a daughter, Cynthia Blythe Trudeau, and a son, Robert MacMillan Blythe, 25 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday evening, November 24, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a second visitation on Saturday morning, November 25, 2017, starting with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 9:30 AM, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mrs. Blythe to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
