Anna Maria Pons' Obituary
Anna Maria Pons, 83, of Mandeville, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018 at 9:32 p.m.
Born Anna Maria Maxein on April 15, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Heinrich Maxein and Elvira Maxein.
Anna attended Academy of Holy Angels in New Orleans. Upon graduation in 1954, Anna entered nursing school at Charity Hospital. In 1968, she and her family moved to Mandeville where she worked for twenty-two years as a teacher’s aide at Southeast Louisiana State Hospital, assigned to Special School District #1.
There was no one she couldn’t make smile, no one she couldn’t make laugh. She was upfront, honest and caring. She always gave her time; she always gave her heart.
Mom, you have given so much and asked for so little. Thank you for always being there for us, listening to us and loving us.
Anna, also fondly known as Anita, is survived by her children Stephen Frank Pons (Cindy) of Nashville, David Henry Pons (Laure) of Mandeville, Shamus Michael Pons (Allison) of New Orleans and Alexis Maxein Pons of Mandeville. The joy in Anita’s life also included two grandchildren, Emily Morgan Pons and Grace Elizabeth Pons.
