Anna May Polit Delle's Obituary
Anna May Polit Delle passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2009.
She was born October 16, 1924 in New Orleans to the late Andrew J. and Thelma Ribes Polit and has been a resident of Covington since 1977. The beloved wife of the late Robert J. Delle, Jr., she is survived by three daughters: Barbara D. Welborn, Kathleen Delle and Jeanne D. Charrier; two sons, Robert J., III and Michael A. Delle; six grandchildren: Jeffrey, Rachael, Melissa, Jeremy, Dana, Linda; six great-grandchildren: Angelica, Demi, Jeffrey, Damon, Elizabeth and Morgan and one sister Gloria Kinchen.
During World War II, Anna May volunteered as a nurse’s aid with the Red Cross and built PT Boats for The Higgins Company in New Orleans. She was also an active member of the American Legion, VFW and Lion’s Club Auxiliaries.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours will begin Thursday at 9:00 AM.
Interment will follow services at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Village Church, 29180 Highway 190, Lacombe, LA 70445.
