Anna Lee Roy Ortego's Obituary
Anna Lee Roy Ortego, age 85, of Bush, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. She was born on November 18, 1938, in Cecilia, Louisiana.
She is survived by her children, Glenn Ortego, Kim Ortego, Patricia “Tricia” Ortego, and Lisa Ortego Grigsby and her husband Tim; grandchildren, Bryce Grigsby and his wife Georgia, Brady Grigsby and his fiancé Emily, and Dakota Ortego; great-grandson, Miles Grigsby; longtime family friend, Michele Neumeyer; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Herbert Roy Ortego; son, Kenneth Ortego; parents, Clebert Roy and Eunice Stelly Roy; two sisters, Vesta Roy Robson and Lena Roy Reeves, three brothers, Lewis Roy, Freddie Roy, and Alton Roy.
Anna Lee Roy Ortego was an avid reader, As a French speaking Cajun; she was an excellent cook. She enjoyed fishing and playing slots for entertainment. She was a wonderful mother, and her children could not have had a better childhood. Anna had a special bond with her three grandsons. She was loved very much by her family and friends and kept a great sense of humor to the end. Words alone are not enough to express how much she will be missed.
The family would like to personally thank her doctors and hospice team for the excellent care she received during her time of need.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana.
