Anna Natalie Goodwyn Hebert's Obituary
Anna Natalie Goodwyn Hebert, age 81 years, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2008.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Covington, LA. She was retired as the owner/operator of The St. Tammany Farmer, a weekly newspaper purchased by her father in 1928. She began working there in 1950 following the death of her brother, Howard K. Goodwyn, Jr. She was the daughter of the late Howard Keener “Nat” Goodwyn and Anna Frederick Goodwyn. Mrs. Hebert was married for 46 years to the late John S. “Jack” Hebert, Sr. and was mother to five sons; Howard Alan Hebert of Pearl River, David Bruce Hebert of Covington, Paul Leon Hebert of Maysville, GA, Gregory Goodwyn Hebert of Folsom and the late John S. Hebert, Jr. She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was a 1944 graduate of Lyon High School, a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church and a represented St. Peter Parish at Senior Mass at St. Louis Cathedral in 1999, served with the hospitality ministry, a member of the St. Peter Alter Society having served as recording secretary, a member of NAIM having served as president for two years, a charter member of the Covington Kaycettes serving as recording secretary and parliamentarian, a member of the St. Tammany Hospital Guild serving as chairman of the Memorial Scholarship Fund and was a 1953 queen of the Krewe of Kaa Cee.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 1:00 PM.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday, AT THE CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Tammany Hospital Guild Memorial Scholarship Fund or St. Peter Catholic Church are preferred.
