Ann Bell Olson's Obituary
Ann Bell Olson passed away on May 25, 2006 at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington, LA at age 86. She was the wife of the late Harold M. “Ole” Olson, a former Delta Air Lines Pilot, and they were residents of Covington for 53 years. She is the mother of Lynn Olson James (Tom) and Harold M. “Hal” Olson, Jr.; grandmother of Lacey James Killam (Patrick), Laura James Ahrons (Steven) and Jonathan Tapp Olson James. She is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Caroline P. Ahrons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest A. and Annie Williams Bell and her brother Ernest A. Bell, Jr. The Olson’s were charter members of Covington Country Club and enjoyed bridge and golf with friends. They were long time members of The First United Methodist Church of Covington where she was active with the Ladies Guild and taught Sunday school. She attended Hollins College in VA and graduated from University of Arkansas. She traveled extensively abroad and often entertained friends and family in her home. Visitation for friends and family will be held Friday, June 2, 2006 from 10:00-11:00 AM in the parlor at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 S. New Hampshire St., Covington, LA 70433. Committal service will immediately follow on the church grounds at St. Francis Garden. Friends are invited afterwards to the home of Mrs. Olson’s daughter, Lynn James. In Lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to The First United Methodist Church of Covington, 203 N. Jefferson St., Covington, LA 70433. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Inc. of Covington is in charge of arrangements.
