Ann Scioneaux Lark's Obituary
Ann Scioneaux Lark passed away Sunday evening May 3, 2015 while at home surrounded by loving family members. She was 91. Ann was born November 11, 1923 in Reserve, La. She married Walter “Jim” Lark on June 4, 1949 and moved into their first house on Kentucky St. in New Orleans. Ann worked for Western Union out of high school during World War II. She was on Time Square in New York when the war ended and described it as a memory that would never be forgotten. When her first child was born she became a full time mother and devoted all of her time and energy to her loving husband Jim and her four children. Ann raised her family in Harahan, La. where she served as president of the ladies auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. Ann moved to Covington, La. once her children were grown and became very active in Our Lady of the Lake parish. Her family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Christwood retirement community where she spent the last ten years of her life. Ann was a devoted wife and mother and was delighted to spend her later years dedicated to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ann was predeceased by her loving husband Walter “Jim” Lark Sr., her parents and four siblings. Ann is survived by her sister Inez and her brother Durel; her children Walter James Lark Jr. (wife Jaqueline), Stephen Lark (wife Gail), Cathy Cammarata (husband William), and William Lark (wife Stacey); grandchildren Jeffrey Lark, Brian Lark, Damian Matt (husband Rennie), Amy Cammarata, Kevin Cammarata, Jennifer LaCombe (husband Evan), Ashleigh Lark; and great grandchildren Dustin Matt, and Austin Matt. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St., Madisonville, LA 70447 on Friday May 8, 2015 followed by a Funeral Mass. Burial services will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Food Bank of Covington, 840 N.
