Anita Marie Plutchak Kaim's Obituary
Anita Marie Plutchak Kaim died on September 12, 2009 at the Heritage Manor Home in Covington, LA. She was born in Daggett, MI on May 19, 1918 the daughter of Robert Fredrick Plutchak and Jessie Mathilda Deacon Plutchak.
Anita was a graduate of Stambaugh High School, Stambaugh, MI and graduated from the E. Burnham Beauty School in Chicago, IL. She then became a beauty operator in Chicago. She married Frank M. Kaim in Maywood, IL on January 2, 1939. After Frank joined the U.S. Navy in 1942, Anita lived with her parents in Michigamme, MI during his war time service. In 1945 her daughter, Cynthia Ann, was born in the Marquette, MI. At the end of WWII the family returned to Chicago where her second child Kenneth Richard was born in 1947. She became a night telephone operator and in 1956 the family moved to Erie, PA. In 1960 the family moved to Cornell, MI and in 1962 they moved to Escanaba, MI. In 1965 they moved to Pampa, TX and moved again in 1967 to Milwaukee, WI. Her daughter Cynthia married William Phillip Barker of Covington, LA. Anita and Frank moved to Cedar Rapids, IA. Frank worked for P&H International and they moved to Jamshedpur, India for three years. During the India-Pakistan War in 1971 they lived in Hong Kong. Cedar River, MI was their home base in the USA during their international assignments. They then moved to Arak, Iran leaving before the Shaw’s overthrow. During retirement Anita and Frank lived in Cedar River, MI, Menominee MI, and Covington, LA.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters: Emogene Gibson Foy, Ilene Fredrickson, and Eva Kaim; and one son-in-law, William Barker. She is survived by two brothers, Robert Richard Plutchak and Norman Gerald Plutchak of Menominee; her daughter, Cynthia Ann Barker of Covington; Cynthia’s sons, William (Billy) Phillip Barker II of Okinawa, Japan and Richard Trevor Barker of Seattle, WA, Billy’s wife Kumiko Kaneshima, their children William (Trey) Phillip Barker III and Katsuia Justin Barker. Anita is also survived by her son, Kenneth Richard Kaim of Big Bend, WI, his wife Linda Lou Reeder Kaim, their son Frank Olyn Kaim Of Chanhassen, MN, his wife Ann Marie Roelofs Kaim, their children Franz Riley Kaim and Eva Margaret Kaim, and twenty three nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at the Fitzgerald United Methodist Church on September 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM in Covington, LA;
and one week later on September 26, 2009 at the Anderson-Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson, MI also at 1:00 PM.
