Angela Louise Coakley's Obituary
Angela Louise Coakley, beloved daughter, sister, mother, fiancée, grandmother (Nonna), and friend.
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Angela Louise Coakley, age 48, of Kentwood, Louisiana, who passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, after a courageous month-long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
Born on November 23, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Angela was the cherished daughter of Patsy N. Coakley and the late Herbert L. Coakley, Jr. Angela was loved and cherished by her brothers Troy L. Coakley (wife Michelle) and Shannon D. Coakley, and her brother-in-law Keith E. Gleason, Jr. She also shared an unbreakable bond with her twin sister, Melissa Coakley Gleason, who was not only her sister but her soulmate and best friend. Their connection was something rare and extraordinary — a love that began before birth and will continue beyond this life.
Angela was a devoted mother to her two sons, Dennis (Trey) Ray Galloway III and Dalton Phillip Galloway, a proud grandmother (Nonna) to Bryson, with another precious granddaughter expected to arrive in February. Her love for her family was endless, and she poured her heart into every moment she spent with them.
She was the beloved fiancée of Joshua W. Gerard, who stood faithfully by her side with unwavering love and strength throughout her journey. They were attached at the hip from day one, and the joy, happiness, and beautiful memories they shared together will last a lifetime.
She was a loving, supportive, caring, devoted, joyful and fun Nanny to Samantha, Corey, Austin, Brandon, Madison, Allison (Ally), Brantley (Parrish), Cameron, Lucas, and Loralie — each of whom she adored and loved as her own.
Angela is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends we call family.
Angela will be remembered for her incredible strength, her contagious laughter, her kindness, and her deep love for family and her friends. Even in her hardest days, she carried herself with grace and courage.
Her warmth and strength touched every life she encountered, and her love will live on forever in our hearts.
