Andrew James Lane's Obituary
Andrew “Andy” James Lane was born January 6, 1939. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 14, 2019 at the age of 80, surrounded by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marie Davis Lane and Felix Lane. Also preceded by his children Jacqueline Smith, James Brian Lane, and Gwendolyn Lane; his siblings Charlie Lane, Carmelita Williams, Gladys Holliday, and Norma Sharp Milstead; and his sister-in-law Peggy Vernon.
Andy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patsy Lee Lane; his best furry friend Baxter; his grandchildren Savannah Lane, Brian Keith Lane, Krisa Lane, Kayla Smith, and Christopher Smith; his great-grandchildren Allie Lane, Layla Lane, Brayden Lane, and Kylan Davis; his brother Victor Lane; his sisters-in-law Lerlean Lane, Gloria Vinyard, and Dixie Lee; his brothers-in-law Joe Milstead, Ronnie Lee, Buddy Lee, Lucky Vernon, and Gary Vinyard.
Andy enjoyed farming, fishing, going to church, attending cookouts, eating crawfish, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was employed at Avondale and Equitable Shipyards, as well as St. Joseph Seminary College.
The family would like to thank St. Tammany Parish Hospice for their total dedication, care, and compassion. They provided him with the help he needed and offered the family love, support, and counseling. Mostly they allowed Andy the opportunity to live his life with dignity surrounded by family and friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Lee Hill Baptist Church, Lee Settlement Road, Folsom, LA from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the church at 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon, with Funeral Services beginning at 12:00 Noon. Bro. Ronnie Douglas and Bro. Darryl Woolery will be officiating. Interment in Elias Lee Cemetery, Elias Lee Cemetery Road in Folsom. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
