Andrew Emmett Galloway's Obituary
Andrew Emmett Galloway passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the age of 76. Emmett was born on March 12, 1942 in Independence, Louisiana to Herman James and Rachel (Taylor) Galloway.
Emmett is survived by his beloved wife, Carol (Smith) Galloway; his children Melissa Galloway Stein (David), Holly Catherine Galloway, Andrew Emmett Galloway, III (Abigail Chaffin, MD); and his grandchildren Whitman Andrew Bedwell, Taylor Lindsey Stein, Annelise Evelyn Galloway, Evan Emmett Galloway, Ewan Andrew Galloway, Andrew Emmett Galloway, IV, and Aila Elizabeth Galloway. Emmett is also survived by his sister Margie Galloway Savoy and numerous nieces and nephews.
Emmett is preceded in death by his sister Gloria Galloway Jenkins, his brothers Herman James Galloway, Jr. and Michael David Galloway, and his parents.
Emmett grew up in Covington, Louisiana and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. After becoming a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Emmett had a successful 35 year career with Canal Barge Company in New Orleans. Emmett and Carol were married in 1965 and spent over 50 wonderful years together. Emmett served as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in New Orleans, as well as First Baptist Church of New Orleans. An avid outdoorsman, Emmett enjoyed fishing and hunting. Following retirement, Emmett and Carol moved to Theriot, Louisiana.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana 70433 on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment to follow the services in Little Creek Cemetery in Archibald, Louisiana.
