Andrew Grant Clark, Jr.'s Obituary
Andrew Grant Clark, Jr. passed away October 31, 2010. He was born April 15, 1929 in New Orleans to the late Andrew Grant Clark, Sr. and Caroline Reinecke Clark. He raised his family and was a businessman in Metairie for many years, before moving to Covington 1996.
The beloved husband of Ione Bordes Clark for 55 years, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa Clark Barry; two sons, Andrew Grant Clark III (Michele) and Carl Gerard Clark and seven grandchildren: Ray J. Guepet III and Melanie J. Barry, Andrew G. IV, Christian L., Joseph D., Benjamin M. and Phillip M. Clark.
Mr. Clark grew up in New Orleans and was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from military service and working several years in construction, he founded Clark Pen Company. He operated this business in Metairie successfully for almost 40 years. As a long time parishioner of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Covington, Grant was devoted to The Holy Name Society, which honored him with the Man or the Year Award. He was also the recipient of the St. Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 20370 Smith Rd., Covington, LA 70435.
Visiting hours will begin at the church Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
Interment will immediately follow mass at the St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
E.J. Fielding Funeral Home of Covington has been entrusted with arrangements.
