My name is Desirea Bowden Green. I am Uncle Andy's niece. My father was Jack "Jackie" Bowden. There is something special about the name Bowden. I have many fond memories of my Uncle. Due to family circumstances and well just life in general I had a period of time when I did not exhibit the pride in my families name. I remember my dad always telling stories about Uncle Andy. He was definitely one of a kind. I remember he was the best there was on the grill, his love for TAB cola, football...especially LSU, and his family! He was always telling jokes, being silly, and always wore shorts. He was a hot natured person. Guess I got that gene honestly. I will always remember the house in Shreveport. The holidays that always ended to early. My heart goes out to my niece and nephews. I know all to well the void that is ever present in each of your lives. I want all of you to know...I love each of you very much. I am so sorry Uncle Andy has passed, but he is gone to Glory. What a reunion the Bowden's are having now. Please know I will be there in spirit. Miss you all..and Love you...10/40...and that's alot!

Dear Bowden Family,
I’m so sad to hear of Andy’s passing. I have shared the news with a number of our Sig Tau fraternity brothers and everybody was as shocked as me. I will say, however, that it sparked a lot of Andy stories from our past and picked everyone’s spirits up remembering a great guy and great times. God welcomed quite a character to Heaven this week and I’m sure he has everybody rolling in the aisles, just as he did here on Earth. God bless you all in the coming days.
