Alvin "Al" Howard Vilemont's Obituary
Alvin Howard Vilemont, “Al,” born March 29, 1943, passed away peacefully at his home in Covington, Louisiana on June 28, 2021.
Alvin is preceded in death by his sister Gail Anne Milligan, his mother Rona Baudoin Vilemont, and his father Alvin Henry Vilemont.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife Jo Ann, his daughters, Andrea Moreau (David) of Pass Christian, Mississippi and Ashley McFadden (Joseph) of Slidell, La., his stepdaughters Tabitha Massa (Kenneth) of Metairie and Holly Schexnayder of Slidell. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Madison “Eli” Kolidas-Moreau, Andrew Moreau, Evelynn McFadden Moreau, Lionel Lewis (Melissa), Lance Lewis (Robin), and Taylor Lewis (Danielle Blackwell) and Nicholas Massa, as well as his great grandchildren, Brylee, Jett, and Reign Lewis, and Alexis, Jasmine, and Kevin Jr. Broussard. With much love and affection he is also remembered by his niece Bridget Gilmore of Waveland, MS and her children Brianna and Joseph Brook, and his nephew, Charles Gilmore (Jennifer) of Ocean Springs, MS and his children, Katelyn and Gabrielle.
Alvin was born in Norco, Louisiana, raised in Chalmette, and graduated from Chalmette High School. He also attended Pearl River College and Southeastern Louisiana University. He was retired from a lifelong career of owning several businesses, including the Vilemont Trucking company and a successful car and boat upholstery business. His passions and hobbies were boating and fishing, traveling in his motorhome, watching LSU and Saints football, performing magic tricks for his kids and grandkids, telling jokes, and playing at casinos. His greatest love though, was spending time with family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10:30 AM with visitation on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow the services in St. Bernard Memorial Mausoleum, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA 70043.
