Alma Gooding Oriol's Obituary
Alma Vivian Gooding Oriol, a 65 year resident of Covington, LA passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 12, 2019. Alma was born on April 21, 1923 to the late Ethel Smith Gooding and Arthur Gooding of the St. Tammany Community. In addition to her parents, Alma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Lewis Oriol, and her brother, Reggie Gooding. She is survived by her son, Richard Dale Oriol (Mary); two grandchildren, Casie Tate (Jonathan) of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Sam Oriol (Allison) of Thibodaux, LA; She also leaves behind four great grandchildren: William Tate, Clair Tate, Lilly Tate, and Kirsten Oriol, and close friend and cousin, Audrey Rosier. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Christwood for all that they do.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM with visitation from 12:00 Noon until Mass time. Interment will follow the service at the St. Tammany Community Cemetery, Lacombe, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the St. Tammany Community Cemetery Restoration Project, 100 Christwood Blvd. #706, Covington, LA 70433.
